Terrible payment system
Like all utility companies, Nicor is definitely a scummy product that charges insane prices for delivery that have already paid off the cost to install gas lines decades ago, but besides all that, I can't even pay my own bill without having a huge monthly headache.
Their online payment system is complete garbage. My 11 year old nephew has a better payment service on his game website he made himself. I can't pay online, we can't recover our omline gas account, we can't create a new account to try to circumvent whatever the *** happened to our first one, which claims we don't exist. Their representatives don't care or probably aren't paid to care. I always need to wait for a full hour on their terrible phone service just to finally pay my bill. Not only do I pay insane prices, I struggle to even make the payments, and fear getting my gas cut off. (I have a 1 year old, so that is simply not an option)
Their phone service will hear any noise in your enviroment, think it's someone speaking, say "we do not recognize that input" and repeat a long *** list of options (of which the most common ones you'd expect a person to need are only listed last) and you can't just press the right button from memory, you need to WAIT until the robo service says the option.
Whatever old geezer running nicor should fall down a set of stairs, maybe their neoptisticly entered grandkids could atleast google a payment service option and "revolutionize" their abhorrent service.
Preferred solution: The ability to pay online like every other company in America

Ran my Thermostat at 80 degrees all last year, now I'm at 72 degrees and my bill has skyrocketed?
Okay, rates are up right?
But my usage has skyrocketed as well...really?
We've had a MILD winter and you goons are stating my USAGE is up, when my Thermostat is set 8 degrees lower than last year and it's been an extremely MILD Winter?
Sorry Nicor, you are scamming people across the state and these so-called consumer advocate groups must be taking kickbacks!

Nicor hates people especially Seniors and Children
Once again, a complaint about the awful way they do "business". They cut off the gas even though we have a Senior with medical issues and the waiver.
They *** up the autopsy even though we did it 3 times. So, No heat. No hot water. No dryer for clothes.
No appointment for 8 days. They don't care at all. Looking for a new gas Co.
Going to let the state know and my lawyer. *** You Nicor and all the management can freeze on a deserted island...and their moms too who should have aborted them.
Preferred solution: The gas turned back on now.

Nicor Is Robbing Me- STOP THIEF !
I feel better now, because I was so Truthful & Honest putting my NICOR-STOP THIEF ! review into some well understood words.It is true that I typed the CEO is a *** , but thankfully as luck would have it, the program would not let me use a swear word.I am sorry that I ended up calling the CEO a frog instead.Sorry buddy : (
I always turn OFF the gas valve at my meter on the above dates because I am WATCHING NICOR THEFT ... of my money.
My bill last month for example states: USAGE CCF 0
THERMS 0.00
ACTUAL READINGS Current=6697 Previous=6697
I am charged TOTAL $25.23 for CCF 0
Included in my bill is: DELIVERY CHARGES $23.98
Monthly Customer Charge $23.32, Franchise Cost Adjustment $$0.19, Qualified Infrastructure Chrg $$0.27, Infrastructure Charge (again) $0.20,
TAXES (for 0 Product Delivered or consumed)
City Belvidere IL @5.15% (of nothing) $1.23
Utility Fund Tax @0.1% (of nothing used, consumed or delivered)
NICOR GAS is Like A Vacuum, NICOR SUCKS

Billing issue
Ed Account number changed because of confusion betweene my sons bill and mine. Change occurred in January.
I have been writing checks against the old account number.
Something happened in July and got a notice saying I was delinquent. What happened in July was my son moved.
Billing is checking on the payments and where my checks went.
Need to know the correct payment required after this investigation

I have called all day and. Cannot get ahold of anyone from Nicore gas I am trying to pay my gas bill and it seems impossible to pay the bill because I cannot get ahold of anyone from Nicore so this is my last attempt to contact you I guess your going to wait until my gas is turned off and then charge me a reconnection fee.

It is impossible to reach a service representative in order to confirm my appointment technician is now 1/2 hour late which is not a bad thing, but I would like to know if the service man/technician is on the list for me today

I have not received a bill I cannot find anybody to let me pay a bill This is a ridiculous way to run your business. I just want to pay bill and I do not have a number I do not have a phone number theres nobody a live person I can speak to
